Service · Team Onboarding

How long does it take a new hire to produce good content?

Astrorterra's team onboarding service cuts that ramp time to under two weeks with structured SOPs, role playbooks, and a live training sprint.

New team members shouldn't learn by making expensive mistakes

When a content team grows without documented processes, institutional knowledge lives in one person's head. When that person leaves or your team scales fast, quality collapses and deadlines slip. Astrorterra's team onboarding service builds the documentation infrastructure that makes your content system teachable, repeatable, and resilient to turnover. We produce role-specific playbooks for writers, editors, strategists, and distribution managers — each one tailored to your actual workflow and tools. We then run a two-week onboarding sprint with your new or existing team members, combining live Zoom sessions, async Loom walkthroughs, and hands-on exercises in your real pipeline. By the end, every team member can navigate the factory independently.

Onboarding service deliverables

Documentation and training that lasts beyond day one.

Role playbooks

Individual playbooks for each content role — writer, editor, SEO specialist, social distributor — covering daily tasks, tool usage, quality standards, and escalation paths. Typically 8 to 15 pages per role.

SOP library

A structured library of standard operating procedures covering every recurring task in your content system — from keyword research to post-publish reporting — stored in your chosen knowledge base.

Live training sprint

A five-session live training programme delivered over two weeks via Zoom, covering tool operation, workflow navigation, quality standards, and a final assessed content run-through per participant.

Async Loom library

A set of 10 to 15 narrated screen-recording walkthroughs covering your specific tools and pipeline stages — permanent onboarding assets your team uses every time a new hire joins.

What happens if your team changes after onboarding?

The documentation we produce is yours permanently and is designed to onboard future hires without us in the room. Every SOP and playbook is version-controlled and stored in a system you own — Notion, Confluence, or a Google Drive structure we set up for you. If you hire again six months later, your new team member follows the same playbooks, watches the same Loom library, and is production-ready in the same two-week window. We offer a paid refresh engagement for teams that have significantly changed their tools or workflow, but for most clients the original documentation set lasts 12 to 18 months before it needs a meaningful update.

We hired four writers in June 2024 and ran them all through the Astrorterra onboarding sprint. By the end of week two, all four were producing briefs, drafting, and submitting work that met our editorial standard without senior editor intervention. That's never happened before in our five years of hiring.
